The Collegiate Church of St. Peter and Paul in Kruszwica

Places
The Collegiate Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Kruszwica is one of the most valuable monuments of Romanesque religious architecture in Poland. It was built around the 12th century, probably funded by Mieszko II or Bolesław Krzywousty, as a Benedictine monastery church. After the Kuyavian bishopric was moved to Włocławek in 1157, the temple became a collegiate church. The temple was built on a Latin cross plan, with three naves, a transept, and five apses. Thick stone walls, semicircular arches, and simple geometric shapes are characteristic of the Romanesque style.
