Address:ul. J. Słowackiego 8, Aleksandrów Kujawski
Under the connecting passageway between the buildings of the City Hall, you can admire a unique mural that pays tribute to Edward Stachura. Piotr Bytner decorated the walls and columns of the passageway, capturing the spirit of this legendary poet's work. The mural features a portrait of Stachura and his moving quote: "There are more and more people, but fewer and fewer human beings." The theme fits perfectly into the celebrations of the Year of Edward Stachura, reminding residents and visitors of an extraordinary figure whose rebellious spirit and poetic vision continue to inspire. The poet was born in 1937 in France. In 1948, the Stachura family returned to Poland and settled in Łazieniec in Kujawy, where the future poet's mother inherited a house and a piece of land. Edward attended primary school in Aleksandrów Kujawski. Stachura's work can be described as emotional and rebellious reflections on the meaning of life and the search for authenticity.
