Biskupin

Places
On the picturesque shores of Lake Biskupin, "Polish Pompeii" rises - one of Europe's largest archaeological reserves. You will see reconstructions of a Stone Age hunter-gatherer encampment dated 8,000 years ago, a settlement of the first farmers dated 6,000 years ago, a defensive settlement of the Lusatian culture dated 2,700 years ago and an early Piast village from the times of the first Piast dynasty. In the reserve you will also see experimental fields with the cultivation of ancient plants and animals similar to the original breeds that lived in the area centuries ago - Polish Konik, Wrzosówka sheep, goats and Polish Red Cattle. The everyday life of the ancient inhabitants of Biskupin will be brought closer by reconstructors of prehistoric handicrafts. They will show you the ancient technique of pottery making or the production of tools from flint and stone.
