The bike trail runs along both banks of the Vistula River. Its right-bank section is 212 km long, and its left-bank section is 238 km long. From the border of the Masovian Voivodeship, the route leads through the areas of Włocławek and Dobrzyń nad Wisłą, passing through Nieszawa, Ciechocinek, Toruń, Bydgoszcz, Chełmno, Świecie, Grudziądz, and through Nowe to the Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Along the way, you'll encounter the following attractions:

– Gothic churches in Toruń, Chełmno, Bydgoszcz, and Nowe;
– castles and their ruins from the Teutonic era in Toruń, Świecie, Nowe, Bobrowniki, Raciążek, and Grudziądz;
– a unique Gothic-Renaissance town hall in Chełmno;
– baroque granaries in Grudziądz;
– a palace and park complex in Ostromecko – an example of Saxon Rococo style;
– 18th- and 19th-century tenement houses in Bydgoszcz, Toruń, and Włocławek, among others;
– the unique salt graduation towers in Ciechocinek;
– the forest complexes of the Gostynin-Włocławek Landscape Park;
– the rolling landscapes of the Lower Vistula Valley;
– and historic Mennonite houses with well-preserved traces of this culture.

A bicycle trip can be enriched by crossing the Vistula River on boats that can carry the cyclist's entire equipment. Crossings are available in: Toruń (both banks of the river near the Old Town); Ciechocinek – Osiek nad Wisłą; and Nieszawa.

In addition, there are irregular cruises from Toruń to Wielka Nieszawka and Ciechocinek. Tourists can sail in either a round-trip or one-way trip. Up-to-date information about the cruises can be found on the website.
