The Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Brześć Kujawski is one of the oldest religious monuments in the region, founded in 1264 by Prince Kazimierz I of Kujawy for the Dominican Order. The current Gothic temple dates back to the second half of the 14th century and was built in the basilica style with three naves. The interior of the church was enriched with neo-baroque elements after a fire in 1922. The church is also part of the Dominican post-monastery complex, which celebrated its 750th anniversary in 2014. The building was entered in the register of monuments in 1981 and is a valuable part of the cultural heritage of Kujawy.
