The monument to Casimir the Great in Kowal is a monumental sculpture commemorating King Casimir III the Great, who was born in this town on April 30, 1310. The monument was unveiled on April 30, 2010, on the 700th anniversary of the ruler's birth. The monument is 7 meters high and is the largest monument in Poland made from a single piece of stone. It was carved by Tadeusz Biniewicz from Gostynin from Blanco Salinas granite, which weighs 45 tons. The stone was transported to Kowal by sea and rail, and the assembly of the monument required the use of specialized equipment and the cooperation of many people.
