Information

  • Address: Hallera 1, Nowe
When you arrive in Nowe, you almost immediately feel as if you have been transported back to the Napoleonic campaigns in Pomerania and Kociewie. The 200 m² mural depicts General Jan Henryk Dąbrowski and scenes from his military campaigns. The mural is a tribute to the history of the region and a symbol of local pride. It was created by the well-known artist Jarosław Wojtasiński. The mural features characteristic elements of Kociewie – colorful folk patterns and flowers, which give the work a unique, regional character. Another interesting feature is the illustration of a letter dated February 10, 1807, from Lt. Col. Józef Hurtig to Gen. H. Dąbrowski about two patrols sent to Starogard and Gociewie. This is one of the first mentions of Kociewie, formerly known as Gociewie. This visual masterpiece not only commemorates the past, but also inspires the discovery of the region's history.
