On the buildings of Primary School No. 1 in Żnin, you can admire unique murals that not only decorate the area but also remind you of local history. The first mural was painted on the gym building on 700-lecia Street in 2018, and another one in 2022. In addition, a sculpture commemorating the insurgent Władysław Lewandowski, who died on the street that now bears his name, was also created at that time. He was the first fatal victim of the Greater Poland Uprising in Żnin.
These murals are the work of brothers Piotr and Jarek Strzałka, and one of them is also in collaboration with Łukasz Towalewski. The murals and sculpture at Primary School No. 1 are a tribute to the events of the Greater Poland Uprising and its heroes, reminding future generations of the courage and sacrifice of the residents of Żnin.
