A new mural has appeared in Gniewkowo to mark the town's 750th anniversary. It was designed by Marcin Fołda from Inowrocław.
The wall features an angel and a castle. Both images were taken from tiles found during excavations in 2003 and 2004. The angel in the foreground of the mural, holding a coat of arms, comes from the crown of a stove that heated the home of a Gniewkowo resident in the first half of the 16th century. The castle in the background of the scene is inspired by a tile pattern from a stove used in the second half of the 15th century or at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries. Just as the angel motif once protected the household and its inhabitants, so too does the angel in the mural watch over the residents of Gniewkowo.
