The mural "Sjesta" (Noon – Rest from Work) perfectly captures the atmosphere of this place, because siesta and relaxation are only possible in Brzózki. Jarek Strzałka has created an amazing copy of van Gogh's 1890 painting "Sjesta", also known as "Noon - Rest from Work". This gigantic mural, measuring eight by seven meters, is probably the largest copy of the Dutch master's work. The atmosphere of the siesta has been perfectly captured – rest in the field, full of sunshine and peace. The original post-impressionist painting is in the Musee d'Orsay. With this work, van Gogh wanted to show that despite his personal problems, he never lost faith in the meaning of human effort and the value of life.
If you have really felt the atmosphere of the siesta, be sure to look for other large-format paintings by Vincent, as there are many more of them throughout the village.
Some may remember that another painting by Van Gogh, "The Mulberry Tree," was previously painted here.
