Barcin – Back to the past

Places

Information

  • Address: ul. św. Wojciecha 6, Barcin
When visiting Barcin, you can travel back in time and feel like a resident of this place at the beginning of the 20th century. All this thanks to a mural on the wall at św. Wojciecha Street, covering an area of 18 m2, which depicts a historical postcard with a now non-existent Evangelical church. It was inspired by a postcard published in the book "Barcin i okolica na starej widokówce" (Barcin and its surroundings on an old postcard) by Zbigniew Zwierzykowski. The Evangelical church of St. Martin was built on the site of a previous temporary building and its construction was completed in 1898. It served its purpose until 1945, and after World War II, it was converted into a grain warehouse and then demolished in the 1960s. Currently, there is a small park in its place.
