A fascinating mural inspired by Leon Wyczółkowski's famous painting "Fishermen," currently housed in the National Museum in Warsaw, has been created in Knieja nad Notecią. The author of this unique work is Monika Kokocińska, an artist specializing in mural painting.
The mural not only commemorates the local history of fishing, but also promotes the charming surroundings of the Noteć River and Lake Wolickie. Wyczółkowski's "Fishermen" motif fits perfectly into this theme, capturing the life and work of the inhabitants of this place, who have been associated with the Noteć River for centuries. The painting realistically depicts the everyday life of fishermen. It is not only an artistic decoration, but also a reminder of the culture and traditions of the inhabitants of Knieja.
