"Potop" Fountain

Places
The monumental "Potop" (Flood) fountain, located in Casmir The Great Park, is awe-inspiring. This impressive water feature, created by Ferdinand Lepcke, was erected in the former Bydgoszcz Regency Garden in 1904. Its composition references the biblical flood. Immersed in the park's greenery, the fountain became a favorite spot for traditional strolls. Unfortunately, in 1943, the valuable sculptures were confiscated for war purposes. Thanks to a social committee formed in 2004, the bronze-cast, multi-figure biblical scene was faithfully reconstructed and is now one of the most magnificent fountains in Poland. It is especially beautiful after dark when colorful lighting highlights the sculptural composition.
