Once upon a time, in Kierzków, there lived a hunter named Borysław. He did not spare the life of any animal he encountered, and he even gave up Holy Mass for hunting. The worried mother, convinced that it was the devil himself who was telling her son the game, began to pray to Saint Hubert for his conversion. During one of his expeditions, Borysław saw a huge deer. As he was getting ready to shoot, he saw that it was Lucifer himself who was leading the animal under the barrel of his shotgun. The sight paralyzed him to such an extent that he couldn't move. The animal then injured its would-be tormentor. The wounded hunter tried to reach the lake to wash his wounds. Crawling with the last of his strength, he fell off the cliff. Then he heard the sound of bells coming from a nearby church where a service was being held for him. And suddenly water gushed out from under the ground and restored his strength. He understood that it was his mother's prayer and the intercession of Saint Hubert saved his life. At least that's what the legend says...
The spring of St. Hubert, which is a natural monument is hidden in the forest, on the eastern slope of Lake Ostrowieckie, near Wiktorów. Surrounded by a stone well, it resembles a chapel. The rusty color of the stones in the spring bed indicates that the water flowing from it contains a lot of iron.
