Kurgan in Złotów

Places
In the village of Złotów you will find traces of history dating back almost 4,000 years. In 1959, a tomb dating back to the younger polished stone age, called the Neolithic, was discovered here. It was probably built by the people of the Globular Amphora culture. The research showed that in the center of the mound there was a burial chamber made of large boulders. This is where deceased members of one family were buried. During archaeological research, bone remains of three people aged 30-40 were found here, as well as flint axes, amber beads, fragments of pendants and the remains of clay vessels. This is, of course, related to the beliefs of the time, when everyday objects were placed in the grave of the deceased. And although today the mound is only partially preserved, it is worth visiting an object that is older than the Biskupin excavations.
