Żnin, called the capital of Pałuki, is a city with a rich and turbulent history. You will learn about the history, culture and traditions of this land at the Pałuki Land Museum. The 15th-century Gothic town hall tower standing in the market square, commonly known as the tower, will take you back to the Middle Ages, when Żnin was one of the largest and most important cities in Greater Poland Region. You will find the old atmosphere in the reconstructed interiors of the armory, the meeting room of city councilors and the city treasury.
In the former City Hall building, you will encounter the folk culture of Pałuki - you will see traditional folk costumes and the interior of a typical Pałuki cottage. You will visit the Motorboat Sports Museum and learn about the history of Znin printing. It was in Żnin, thanks to the nationwide publishing concern of Anna and Alfred Krzycki, that the Polish colored and women's press was born. "Moja Przyjaciółka" - an illustrated biweekly women's magazine with life advice, news from the world of fashion, cuisine and reports from distant places in the world, became the most popular magazine for women in pre-war Poland.
