The "Kozie Lakes" nature reserve will surprise you with floating islands. This protected area contains four overgrowing lakes with a typical raised bog vegetation complex. "Kozie Lakes" is a typical example of the overgrowing, dystrophic lakes, the so-called “biscuits”, due to the patch of peat moss that slides onto the water surface and breaks away from the shore, creating floating islands which drift on the lake surface wherever the wind takes them. You will see this unusual view by following the wooden footbridge leading to the edge of one of the lakes. Before you reach your destination, look around. You have a chance to spot the sundew, which is abundant in this area. It is a protected plant that feeds on insects. Its leaves secrete an attracting liquid to which insects stick, and the leaves curl up and absorb their prey.
