Nawra's presence on the Copernicus Trail is by no means accidental. Although Nicolaus Copernicus may never have been here, it should be remembered that the town dates back to the Middle Ages and already had a parish church at that time. However, the great astronomer is associated with Nawra through his greatest work, De revolutionibus. An extremely valuable copy from 1566 was supposed to be in the library in Nawra, one of the largest in the former Royal Prussia, whose valuable collection attracted prominent researchers in the 19th and 20th centuries. Among them was Wojciech Kętrzyński, who organized the Nawra collections and used them in his scientific work. Other contemporary historians, including Alfons Mańkowski, also used the library's collections. Currently, intensive work is underway in Nawra to rebuild the palace and park complex and create the Sczaniecki Family Museum of Landed Gentry.
