The palace in Lubostroń was recommended in his letters to his brother by Adam Mickiewicz himself. The poet and friend of the bard, Stefan Garczyński, grew up here, and the author of the "Mazurek Dąbrowskiego” [Polish anthem], Józef Wybicki, was a regular visitor to the classicist palace. "To Ourselves, Friends and Posterity 1800" - reads the inscription on the main portico, complemented by Virgil's words: "Here safely from the dangers of life" - this is how the founder of the palace himself, Fryderyk Skórzewski, encourages visitors to visit his  ‘fond retreat’.
