The city's characteristic attractions include beautiful views of the Vistula River from the escarpment, and Castle Hill, the remains of a medieval castle. Historically, the city was particularly embroiled in the Teutonic-Polish conflict. It was also the seat of the Dobrzyński Brothers, a military order ultimately absorbed by the Teutonic Knights.
